The staff consists of 23 teachers, one social worker and one teacher for special needs. The last ones are very important as we include all children with special needs in our school and therefore need a lot of specialized knowledge and ressources. Besides the paid staff we have a great amount of unpaid staff and helpers in our school. Around 30 people help us to supplement the regular lessons with additional courses for small groups, reading lessons or additional working communities in a variety of topics (sewing, football, music, chess, yoga, etc.). Our working focus is based on the following topics: Reading project: We permenantly support the reading and comprehension skills of our students. By the help of unpaid supporters we have small group reading lessons each week for all students. Moreover, we carry out a reading and media week each year where authors visit our school and where we can focus totally on books from our school-owned library, use computers in our computer room or visit printing houses. In this project there will also be a lot of parents or grandparents involved which offers a tight contact between the students´ homes and the school. This helps us to have a vivid communication and coordination of further ideas or projects. Klasse 2000: This project about a healthy lifestyle for our students includes topics like healthy food, preventing bullying, keeping fit and prevention of drugs or alcohol abuse. It is held in all classes several times a year so it provides a great sustainibility. Jekits: This music project is carried out with the help of the regional government and local partners like a music school. The students get extra lessons in music, choir and instrumental knowledge. After one year they are free to choose one of the offered instruments and get the lessons for it at school. Either they don´t have to pay anything for this or a very low amount of money (according to the parents´ income). Does this school have a valid eTwinning school label
